Replacements, repairs, and hail-damage insurance claims for Indian Trail homeowners across 28079 โ from the established subdivisions of Sun Valley and Brandon Oaks to the higher-end communities of Bonterra, Shannamara, and Crooked Creek. Locally owned, fully insured, and crews on the road in Union County nearly every week.
Indian Trail isn't Charlotte and it isn't Mint Hill โ it's its own town in Union County, with a different building stock, a different HOA culture, and one specific weather pattern that defines most of our work here.
Indian Trail is one of the fastest-growing towns in North Carolina. In 1990 it had fewer than 1,500 residents. By 2000 the population was 11,000. Today it's around 42,000 โ a nearly 30x increase in three decades. That growth pattern matters for roofing because it tells you exactly what kind of housing stock dominates 28079: predominantly homes built between 1995 and 2015, in HOA-governed subdivisions, with architectural shingles installed when the homes were new. Most of those shingles are now reaching the end of their warranty period, which is why first-time roof replacements are a huge part of our work in Indian Trail.
Unlike Mint Hill or Matthews, Indian Trail doesn't have a meaningful pre-1990 housing stock. Almost everything you'll see when you drive through 28079 was built in one of three waves:
If you live in Indian Trail you already know this, but for everyone else: Union County takes more severe hail than almost anywhere else in the Charlotte metro. The April 2017 hailstorm devastated Indian Trail โ entire neighborhoods including Sun Valley and Brandon Oaks ended up with insurance-funded roof replacements. We were on adjuster ride-alongs across 28079 for months after that storm.
There are two structural reasons Indian Trail gets hit harder than its neighbors. First, the town sits on the western edge of where Piedmont thunderstorms tend to drop the largest hailstones โ by the time storms reach Charlotte they've often already dumped their worst. Second, Indian Trail's open-lot subdivision layout has very little mature tree canopy compared to older Mecklenburg suburbs. With nothing to break up the ice on its way down, hailstones hit roofs at full velocity. The same storm that drops 1.5" stones on a tree-canopied Mint Hill street can drop the same stones onto an Indian Trail rooftop with zero buffer.
If your shingles are 7+ years old and you've been through a recent hail event, request a free inspection. We document any damage in writing and meet your adjuster on-site at no cost.
Almost every Indian Trail subdivision is governed by a homeowners association with an architectural review committee. ARC standards here tend to be stricter than older towns because the original developers wanted uniformity. Color and material samples have to be pre-approved before installation โ and submitting an incomplete packet is the most common reason we see installations get held up. We submit ARC packets on your behalf for every job. The HOAs we work with most often:
Largest Indian Trail community. Multi-phase HOA with detailed shingle palette. Quick approvals once paperwork is in.
Higher-end community along Wesley Chapel-Stouts Rd. Active ARC, tighter material requirements.
Established neighborhood. Color palette restricted; we have approved swatches on file.
Premier Indian Trail community. ARC handles every visible exterior detail including roof pitch transitions.
Mid-tier community with a straightforward ARC. Pre-approved earth-tone shingle list.
Newer 2010s communities with active architectural review.
Don't see your neighborhood? We've worked in Reverdy Pointe, Carriage Downs, Country Squire, Stratford on the Lake, Brook Hollow, Hidden Lake, Country Lake, Pine Brook, and most others. Send us your address and we'll tell you the ARC turnaround before the estimate.

Most Indian Trail calls fall into one of these six categories. If your situation doesn't fit neatly, we'll still give you a straight answer.
Full tear-off and replacement using Owens Corning, IKO, or GAF systems. We'll submit your HOA's ARC packet and match the approved color palette for Sun Valley, Bonterra, Shannamara, and other communities.
Targeted repairs for leaks, missing shingles, flashing failures, pipe-boot cracks, and storm impact. Most Indian Trail repairs scheduled within the same week.
This is most of what we do in Indian Trail. Free post-storm inspections, full insurance documentation packages, on-site adjuster meetings, and complete claim management from start to finish.
Pre-listing inspections for sellers, due-diligence inspections for buyers, and post-storm assessments. Written reports with photos, ready to share with insurance or your realtor.
Seamless 5"/6" aluminum and copper gutters, leaf-guard add-ons, and downspout re-routing. Important on Indian Trail's open-lot homes where storm runoff hits gutters at full velocity.
TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, and standing-seam metal for Indian Trail businesses along Highway 74 and the Sun Valley commercial corridor.
Most Charlotte-area roofers offer 1โ2 year workmanship warranties. We offer five โ and we honor every claim, no questions asked.
If anything fails because of how we installed your roof โ leaks, lifted shingles, flashing failure, anything โ we fix it at no cost for five full years. No fine print, no deductible, no "wear and tear" loopholes. We installed it; we own it.
This sits on top of Owens Corning's lifetime limited warranty on the shingle materials themselves. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, we can also offer extended warranty options that include labor and tear-off coverage on qualifying systems.

๐ 704-396-8383Asphalt-shingle replacement on a typical Indian Trail home runs $9,500 to $22,000. The variables: square footage, roof pitch, decking condition, shingle line, and HOA-approved color requirements.
Smaller ranches and split-levels in older parts of Sun Valley or Brandon Oaks usually fall on the lower end ($9,500โ$14,000). Two-story homes in Bonterra, Shannamara, and Crooked Creek typically run $14,000โ$22,000. Custom homes in Shannamara or the Reserve at Sun Valley with steeper or cut-up roofs can run higher.
Almost certainly yes. Indian Trail is dominated by HOA-governed subdivisions โ Sun Valley, Bonterra, Brandon Oaks, Shannamara, Crooked Creek, Taylor Glenn, Carriage Downs, Camden Forest, and most other 28079 communities all have ARCs that pre-approve shingle color and material before installation. Older sections of Sun Valley and rural-edge properties may not have HOAs. We submit the ARC packet โ including shingle samples and color renderings โ on your behalf for every project.
Two reasons. First, Indian Trail sits at the eastern edge of where Piedmont thunderstorms tend to drop the largest hailstones. By the time storms move further west into Charlotte, they've often dumped their worst. Second, Indian Trail's open-lot subdivision layout has very little mature tree canopy compared to older Mecklenburg neighborhoods โ there's nothing to break up the ice on the way down.
The April 2017 storm caused widespread damage across 28079, and we see another concentrated hail event roughly every 2โ3 years. If your shingles are 7+ years old and you've been through a recent storm, get an inspection.
Probably yes โ Indian Trail in particular has neighborhoods where almost every house ends up qualifying after a major hail event. The typical claim window is one year from the date of the storm event (sometimes longer depending on your carrier).
If your shingles are 7+ years old and you've been through a hail or high-wind event recently, request a free inspection. We document any damage in writing โ and if it's not enough to justify a claim, we'll tell you that too.
Most Indian Trail residential replacements are 1โ2 days from tear-off to cleanup. Larger or steeper roofs in Shannamara or custom-build neighborhoods (3,500+ sq ft, 8/12+ pitch) may take 3 days. Commercial scopes vary. We always give you the exact schedule before signing.

If anything fails because of how we installed it, we fix it at no cost for five full years. No fine print, no deductible, no "wear and tear" exclusions, no questions asked. Most Charlotte-area roofers offer 1โ2 year workmanship warranties; we offer five.
The second is the manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty on the shingle materials themselves. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor we can also offer extended manufacturer warranty options that include labor and tear-off coverage on qualifying systems for additional decades.
